About us

Find a Specialist Cleaner is an independent UK directory of specialist cleaning firms: the people you call after a death, a serious incident, a flood or fire or when a home has become unsafe to live in. We started it in 2026 because people searching at the worst moment often land on call centres that pass their details to whichever firm pays most.

We do it differently. We aren't owned by any cleaning firm. You contact firms directly and we never pass on your details or take payment for enquiries.

Who we list

UK businesses offering trauma and crime scene cleaning, biohazard and sharps services, hoarding clearance, void and extreme cleaning, fire, flood and water restoration and mould remediation.

How we check them

Before a firm goes live we check its own website for the services and areas it claims and look for a real UK base. Where firms hold public contracts we also use published council contract notices. We record accreditations the firm states, such as CHAS, SafeContractor, BICSc or BDMA membership and show them on the listing. We don't independently audit every claim so always ask for proof before you hire.

What to ask any firm

Ask for public liability insurance, the firm's waste carrier registration (needed to remove clinical or hazardous waste), relevant training, a written quote and what happens to anything removed from the property.

Paid listings

Listing is free. If we introduce featured listings they will be clearly labelled and will never affect whether or how a firm is listed.

Corrections

Firms can update or remove their listing at any time. Spotted something wrong? Contact us or email hello@findaspecialistcleaner.co.uk.
